Taking the Digital Power a step closer to the Community
The Government of Bihar (GoB), through Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society (BRLPS), an autonomous body under the Department of Rural Development, is spearheading the World Bank aided Bihar Rural Livelihoods Project (BRLP), locally known as JEEViKA with the objective of social & economic empowerment of the rural poor. Subsequently, the Livelihoods Restoration and Enhancement component of Bihar Kosi Flood Recovery Project (BKFRP) was also taken into the fold of JEEViKA.
The innate capabilities of the poor, complemented with capacities like information, knowledge, skills, tools, finance and collectivisation, provides a sustainable way of economic and social development. In this direction JEEViKA as a facilitaror has tried to come up with a participatory model of instituion building and capacity building in financial inclusion, social development, health and nutrition and various livelihood activities. Considering the potential of digital power in transaforming capabilities, JEEViKA has a vision of brining electronic information management system on to the lap of the community.
In this direction a major milestone was covered on 07/10/2015 with the distribution of Tablet to field staff. Honourable CEO Madam distributed the tablet at Conference Room, Vidyut Bahawan. Later in the day respected OSD Shri Braj Kishore Pathak , Bihar Rural Livelihood Promotion Society distributed the tablets. He gave an inspiring lecture and motivated the staff to continue their mission with enthusiasm and commitment.
